I know it's a few days past 9/11. Doesn't matter. I found this wonderful clip from the Jon Stewart show on Neil Gaimen's journal and had to share it. It's from his first show back on the air after 9/11.
I remember 9/11 as if it was yesterday. I was at work and suddenly, from out of nowhere, some woman runs screaming down the cube aisles, completely hysterical, "We've been attacked! We've been attacked!!"
We all stopped what we were doing and ran to the window, expecting to see the lower floors of the building erupting in flames and billowing smoke.
People who go all hysterical amaze me. I mean, what kind of help is that?
I was working at the defunct/reborn web catalog company. The whole creative department gathered around an old TV with rabbit ears, constantly adjusting and readjusting to get the picture to come in. I'd run back and forth to my desk to message or call Avindair about what we were seeing.

Wow. That was incredibly powerful.
Indeed.

Helluva day.
Thanks for bringing it to us. I remember the first time I saw this, and it was the first thing I saw that really helped.
I am glad to see it again.
One of the few commentaries that was not self-serving and manipulative.
