Postive Post #2

Good news in the world of AIDS research. Researchers at the University of Alberta have discovered a gene that blocks HIV. They've identified a gene called TRIM22 that can prevent the assembly of the virus.

From the article in the University of Alberta Express News:

"This means that TRIM22 is an essential part of our body's ability to fight off HIV. The results are very exciting because they show that our bodies have a gene that is capable of stopping the spread of HIV."

Very cool. I'd not read that yet. Hopefully with continued study, we'll eventually find something to finally put a stop to HIV.

I'm sure it will take a long time for them to find a way to implement this knowledge, but it's a step in the right direction.

The scientist in question will never have to work again. Imagine the feeling you'd get from knowing you saved the lives of millions.

George Dubya would say this: "No way in Hell will this vaccine make it to 'murica. This vaccine will promote promiscuity!"

Ah, yes. The end is near.

How many more days will we have to hear his vile name?

I'm sure, in one way or another, for the rest of our lives. It's HOW he's spoken of that will make the difference to us.

Oh, and it's 244 days until the election.

244 LONG, FILLED WITH POLITICAL RHETORIC DAYS...
